Nico's arrival

This is Nico.

A month after my beautiful Alana passed away due to cancer (what a terrible disease!) I walked into the same rescue center where I found Alana merely 8 years before.  I heard a small meow sound and my mother and me saw what it seemed to be a rat shivering with cold and screaming out the top of his lungs!

Mom asked: "is it a cat?" ready to turn around and walk away; my sister is asthmatic so a cat is really not a choice...  I opened a rusty barren cage located in a drafty spot and told her: "its a puppy with the umbilical cord still attached"; she reached out and cradled it, the pup started shivering and his meowing softened...

She looked at me, put the pup inside her blouse to keep him warm and turned around saying: "come on let's go... NOW!" I walked behind her with Rita... another rescue she (and I) could not leave behind, and reached the cashier for the "recovery fee"... I paid $50.00 for both of them plus $120.00 for a replacement milk formula for Nico.

The formula did not have a bottle with it, so I had to buy a bottle...  ($25.00 for a bottle that is meant for a doll... aka never worked!) fortunately I had Alana's bottle (she came into my life when she was one month old {you can read her story here}) so the journey with Nico began....
